God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. - 1 Corinthians 1:27

Read 1 Corinthians 1:20-31

“Jesus loves me; this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong; they are weak but he is strong.”

Our Christian faith can be as simple as this song. Sometimes people are afraid of having a deep relationship with Jesus because they thought it is complicated and might require a lot of sacrifices. When I was starting in my faith, I felt so intimidated because the church cell group I belong to know their Bible very well. They quote scriptures during the sharing sessions and declare promises from the Bible praying. I was so shy whenever it is my time to share because I don’t believe I know much about Jesus.

We can always approach Jesus with a simple faith. He even delights in a simple yet sincere prayer. God’s kingdom is not about religion and rules but about relationship. Memorizing the Bible page by page does not make us closer to God. It is not what will bring us our salvation. It is better to have a childlike faith rather than building the faith through mere theology or rules. God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

Lord, help me have a childlike faith.
