A Closed Door - Daily Devotion

Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. - Colossians 4:3 NLT

Read Acts 16:6-10

Have you experienced being locked or blocked out because of a door knob failure? The experience is very frustrating. It will make you panic and feel worried.

Paul also experienced closed doors. Paul, Timothy, and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then, coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas (Acts 16:6-10 NLT).

Paul’s plan is to go to Asia, but there are no doors opened yet. They tried different routes, even so, God blocked the door. How many times did we experience the same thing, trying to wiggle the knob of a closed door?

God holds the key to every door. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open (Revelations 3:7). Instead of getting frustrated because of a closed door, let us ask God to lead us to the door he prepared for us.

Lord, lead us to an open door.
