A Light On My Path

Where do we look for guidance as we travel down the road of life? Do we trust a compass, a GPS map, or God’s word? The psalmist tells us in today’s passage that God’s word made his paths clear. Without the guidance of God’s word, he wouldn’t know where to go.

God’s word has the power to be a lamp on our feet. Our lives are filled with uncertainties. We do not know what kind of ground we will walk on. Walking can also be done in a variety of ways—we can stroll, glide, and explore occasionally. The Bible will help us in walking in how God intends for us to walk. Our guide is God’s word. We can trust his word because all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). Because our God is a trustworthy and reliable God, it is a trustworthy and reliable guidance.
