A New Person

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. — Ephesians 4:32
As Christians, we are now a new person. The old has gone, and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). We now have a designated walking path and place. Imagine Jesus turning us 180 degrees around and directing us in the proper way. As a result, we must go and progress in the way that Jesus directs us.
Now, we seek to serve others with the same love, tenderness, and forgiveness that God has shown us—treating others as God has treated us. We model our forgiving of others after the forgiveness we received from Jesus. Even when we are uninterested in forgiveness, God always makes the first move in forgiving and reconciling. Even though God knows we would sin again, He continues to forgive us. Even though He was innocent, He bore the full weight of our sin.
When we consider how great God’s forgiveness is, it’s shameful to refuse forgiveness to those who have hurt us. May others come to know God’s love through us!
The Holy Spirit leads us in all truth.
