Ask and You Shall Receive

What if God appeared to you in a dream? What would you ask for? Our pastor posed this question to us in church recently. He also added, what are you willing to give up for this gift from God? Without hesitation, I knew what I would ask for- would you? I would ask that my marriage covenant becomes a rock that glorifies God and each other. After mass, I told our pastor I was willing to give up everything but the hand of Jesus for my request.

I shared this with my wife as the power of Love is God. I know that the Lord is pleased with my request, as he was with Solomon’s request for an understanding heart and wisdom to distinguish right from wrong. We were made for God and by God, and our hearts are restless until they find rest in him.

Every step you take should be a prayer, and if every step you take is a prayer, then you will always be walking in a sacred manner. – Oglala Lakota Holyman
