Believe Also In Me Daily Devotion

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me.” - John 14:1, NIV

Read John 14:1-7

Jesus told his disciples about his departure and they become troubled. Simon Peter asked Jesus where he is going and Jesus answered, “Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but you will follow afterward (vv. 36).” The disciples were taken aback and concerned. Because Jesus saw their hearts were worried, he reminded and encouraged them they didn’t have to be. They could believe in Him and His promises just as they did in God’s. Jesus reminded them who He is and said, “You believe in God; believe also in Me (vv. 14:1).”

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He is not only a sacrificial lamb sent by God as his redemption plan for the fallen humanity, but Jesus is God. Everything He accomplishes directly results from God’s will. He has not spoken on his own authority, but the Father who sent him has given him a commandment—what to say and what to speak (John 12:49). He has proven Himself trustworthy by the testimony of His life and the testimony of His Father.

We can trust in Jesus Christ because his Word is right and true. He keeps his promises, and he is faithful in everything he does. Jesus knows and understands our pain and troubles because he himself experienced them personally. He even died for us out of his genuine and indescribable love. Believe how difficult your situation would be, do not be troubled because Jesus will never leave you. He is with you always.

Believe in Him who sacrificed His own life for you to live.
