Benefits of a Godly Person

David list three benefits of a godly person who puts their trust in the Lord in Psalms 23 and 24. The enormous reward for the faithful includes more than just eternity. We can taste and take pleasure in God’s benefits right now, while we are still on earth.

The first is that God led and blessed the godly in every step. He changes us from the inside out so that those around us might see the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God in action. David described the last benefit as: “Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand (v. 24).” So, no matter how many times we fall, we will not fall away. This is because the LORD preserves us, not because of our own personal fortitude or virtue. God, who has the power to prevent us from sin, will save and make us who surrender holy.
