Psalm 29 is a song of praise to God, acknowledging His dominant power above all creation. It is a call to adore Him and give glory to the One True God. Every creation, every natural phenomenon expresses the glory of God. A thunderstorm acts as an audible representation of the divine presence of God. The majesty of His presence can silence all the earth. They know the LORD‘s voice is much mightier, and much more glorious. Hence the proper response is to cry, “Glory!”
Whatever challenges we may go through, whatever natural calamity we may face, whatever battle that seems too big we may encounter, remember the truth that the Lord sits as King forever, especially to His people. A King who knows the needs of His people, who cares, who brings justice, who restores, who redeems, who turns mourning into dancing, who gives hope, who loves. We can have the assurance that we are safe in the arms of Jesus, even in the most stormy times of our life. The Lord deserves all praise and worship!
