Read 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28
Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians are filled with exhortations to conduct themselves in godly ways. He reminded them that those who belong in God and receive His salvation are children of the light and children of the day (1 Thess 5:5). Hence, they are now to live in the new life God has given them through Christ Jesus. The urging of Paul is the same urging we should remember and apply in the present age.
Paul says to always rejoice because joy is a fruit of the spirit. It is a mark of a true Christian to still find a reason to rejoice in whatever circumstance we may encounter in life because of our hope. We are to pray without ceasing because praying is our continuous personal and intimate fellowship with God. We are to always give thanks because none of what we have, even the abundant grace we receive from God, is not because of our good works. All are from the Lord.
How will you spend your day today to honor God?
Lord, help me to live according to your ways.
