Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. — Ephesians 4:31, NIV
Bitterness, according to Aristotle, is “the resentful spirit that opposes reconciliation.” Rage denotes overwhelming fury; anger denotes displeasure; brawling denotes a loud or noisy conflict or disagreement; and slander denotes damaging words about someone. They all have one thing in common: they are not honoring to God. We must throw these away, according to the Bible. A godly man is in control of his emotions and can deal with them in a way that honors God.
We should be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave us (vv. 32). As a new man, we seek what is good for our neighbor by showing kindness, tenderheartedness, and forgiveness. These characteristics reflect God’s image. Imagine a world where all there is is love, kindness, and forgiveness. Everything will undoubtedly be better. We can always be the “I” in kindness.
Show kindness to someone today.
