Crying Out For Wisdom

Solomon described a variety of methods for seeking wisdom in Proverbs 2. I’ve also shared some of them in previous devotions. It entails seeking and receiving wisdom from God, treasuring it, inclining our ear to it, applying it to our lives, crying out to God for it, and searching for it. In today’s devotion, we’ll talk about asking for wisdom and crying out for understanding.

To find wisdom, one must be willing of it. Crying out to God can mean a genuine cry of desperation for God’s fear and the wisdom He can provide. It is pleading with God with our hearts and souls to hear and answer our prayers—our desperate need for more wisdom, guidance, and insight to live according to God’s Word and will. Having this kind of heart for God means we want to be completely reliant on Him and have a sincere and deep relationship with Him.

Luke 6:21 tells us, “Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied.” Cry out to God today. He will always lend an ear to you.
