Do not judge, or you too will be judged

Today's Daily Devotion - May 21 2022

By Khai Samante

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? - Matthew 7:1-3

According To His Will

National elections in the Philippines were held nearly two weeks ago. The commission has already declared the freshly elected politicians. Some have been re-elected, while others are new. Like in every election, there are always those who criticize and even bash the winners.

Each election seems to make it all too easy for us to pass judgment and hurl hurtful words at individuals we disagree with. Others, unfortunately, despise their victory over their favored candidate. As my social media accounts continue to be flooded with posts of hatred and sadness. I remember Daniel 4:35 says, “All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, but He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can ward off His hand or say to Him, ‘What have You done?” I realized that when we reject or insult the winners in elections, we are also rejecting and condemning God’s purposes. To God, there is no such thing as “chance.” Nothing slipped in His providential hands. Whoever will be sworn in as newly elected leaders, God has a plan for them. Our role is to have faith in God and trust that all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). We can trust God because the Lord is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds (Psalm 145:17).

Lord, help me trust you even more and find peace in your presence.
