Eternal Success

Who will not want success? All of us want to be successful. Success though is subjective. My definition and measurement of success might differ with yours.

Nowadays, there are a lot of books giving several keys and tips on how to be successful in life. Out of the other early English versions of the Bible, Joshua 1:8 is the only place where the word “success” is found. If you are still in search of ways on how to be successful, God has already given the secret of success in verses 5 through 9.

The first secret is not to forget that God is with us. God says He will not fail us nor forsake us, He is with us every step we take (v.5, 9), second is to be strong and of good courage, claiming the promises God swore to our us (v.6), next is to be strong and courageous making sure we will not miss the mark (v.7), and lastly, to meditate on the word of God day and night because it will make our way prosperous and deal wisely and have success (v.8).

Joshua did not hesitate when God commanded Him. He accepted what God has asked him to do and went all out for God. Always willing to obey God and His will without hesitation is essential to gain eternal success.
