Eyes on the Prize

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
Any athlete or sportsman will tell you that it is essential to “keep your eyes on the prize.” This applies whether it is a baseball, tennis ball, or an archer shooting an elk. The keys to success are controlling your breathing to remain calm and focused and most important is the follow-through. Do not take your eyes off the prize or your aim will undoubtedly be off its mark.
A simple yet effective grounding or centering exercise to keep me in the presence of Jesus Christ is Inhale Love, Exhale Gratitude- “Jesus.” As an avid hunter, I have adopted this centering exercise to keep me focused on the prize. And as I say “Jesus”, I am confident that I have successfully completed the follow-through.
“Jesus” is the prize- the high calling of God.
