September 15, 2020 Daily Devotion
I told my clinic staff recently that I was going to the grocery store over the lunch hour to buy ginger root for my tea. As I was getting ready to go to the store, I got a frantic call from the pharmacist that there was an elderly patient with a medical problem. I arrived in a few minutes and evaluated an elderly male alert yet appearing weak. First, I offered a prayer that God, our great physician, would restore this man to health. We quickly assessed him with the help of EMS and stabilized the patient for transfer to the hospital. He seemed to improve as did his blood sugar with a bottle of apple juice.
You never know when you will be called on to help another person. Let’s make it a habit to call on God for his healing power and the battle becomes HIS. Allow God to control our thoughts, words and actions for HIS glory. I went back into the store to buy my ginger root. The kind lady at the checkout counter smiled and said, “It’s on the house.”
