Give Gratitude Always to Jesus
November 11, 2020 Daily Devotion
By Dr. George J. Ceremuga
Stand up and go, your faith has saved you. Luke 17:19
In the November 2020 addition of “The Word Among Us,” the main theme is the blessings of a grateful heart. Joy naturally grows from a grateful heart. So, when the 10 lepers approached Jesus, they knew that only Jesus could heal them, and he did. Not unlike today in many medical conditions to include the Covid pandemic, Jesus is the great physician and healer.
Of the 10, only the Samaritan jubilant with gratitude returned to give the proper thanks to Jesus. Leprosy in the Bible is an analogy to sin. Leprosy disfigures the body as sin disfigures our souls. Leprosy required people to live apart from society as sin separates us from our relationship with God and his people. This reminds us that each day is a new beginning and a cause for rejoicing.
We are a new creation in Christ!
