God Bless You and May He Answer All Your Prayers

Recently I talked with a friend who is experiencing a mental health crisis and is in a hospital receiving treatment. Although he is heavily medicated and in a dark spot, he ended our conversation in prayer with, “God bless you and may he answer all your prayers.” Wow, what a signal of grace- the Holy Spirit’s presence working to bring him back to living fully alive in mind, body, and spirit.

At times, being present with those that are experiencing difficulties in life is all that is required. Our role is to listen, love, and be joyful in their presence. When we do so, our candle is able to light their candle and spread the love of God. As I heard my friend’s prayer, it was clear that the healing hands of our Lord Jesus Christ are firmly wrapped around him. That is pure peace in the presence of Jesus. Jesus heals.
