God Desired Faithfulness

Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. — Psalm 51:6
We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Despite how adorable infants were, they were sinful at birth and from the moment their mothers conceived them. Sin polluted our hearts and souls. Even if we try to hide our sins from God and get away with them, God knows about them all. God desired faithfulness, as well as truth and wisdom.
Only God, through Jesus Christ, can wash away all our iniquities, cleanse us from our sins, and deliver us from the guilt of bloodshed. However, the first step is to admit that we have sinned against a holy God and to confess our sinful nature. God, according to David, does not delight in sacrifices or burnt offerings. The only sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17).
God is merciful, loving, and compassionate. He has the power to turn us white as snow. He is the only one who can instill a pure heart in us and renew our steadfast spirit. But are we willing to be humble before God and confess our sins? Are we willing to reconcile with Him? Are we allowing Him to purify us?
God, renew my joy of salvation!
