God’s Greatest Acts of Mercy

God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him.

Genesis 1:27

Saint Thomas Aquinas tells us, “the greatest misery or sin in the world is not to exist, not to be. God loves us so much that the Father created mankind in his image. All comes from God; all will return to God (Exitus-Reditus).  The second greatest act of mercy is redemption through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And yes, the third act of mercy culminates in our sanctification through the Power of the Holy Spirit to return to God, the Father for all eternity.

The Trinity put the love of God in the immaculate heart of Mary as the greatest act of mercy given to a single person- the Immaculate Conception. It is through the Immaculate heart of Mary, the blessed Mother for the world that will prepare the world to receive the love of the Holy Spirit poured back onto mankind to be sanctified and return to God the Father for all eternity. This is the “Flame of Love.”
