Read Isaiah 55
The transcendence of God refers to His lordship, power, and authority as the King of all His creation. He is even above and beyond time and space. He is in control of everything. He is our creator, hence; He owns us and has the authority over us. Our proper response is to exalt him in His royal dignity as the psalmist says, “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth (Psalm 57:5 ).”
Knowing that God is transcendent, does this mean He is a distant God? IS He far from us? Will He remain a mystery to us? Despite His control, power, and authority, He is present throughout all His creation. He is not a distant God. He is not a mystery. In fact, the Bible is the revelation of God to mankind. He also reveals Himself through His creation, such as the burning bush, the inner court of the Temple, and the person of Jesus Christ.
God’s immanence is the implication of His transcendence. We can relate to Him and have a personal and an intimate encounter with Him. Do you like to have a personal relationship with a transcendent God? His invitation is always open, all we have to do is to accept it.
He is Lord!
