God is Truthful

…in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time...

Titus 1:2

Read Titus 1:1-4

The definition of truth has its roots in God‘s character. Lying is against the character of God, hence it is impossible for God to lie. Since God could never lie, we can have the confidence that everything He says about what is going to happen will actually happen. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that he should lie.” What are the promises of God you are holding on to right now?

We can have a list of all the promises of God about provision, healing, restoration, and salvation. We can believe, have hope, and have confidence that the things God has promised will occur no matter what or no matter how long it might take according to our own timeline. God’s will and promises will happen because our promise keeper never lies. With that truth, we can always trust God and claim an everlasting life with Jesus.

In the Old Testament scriptures, God promised to send someone greater than Moses. He promised to provide a son of David who would reign forever. He also foretold that the promised Savior will suffer and die for our sins. Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of God’s promise. God restores a relationship of unity and harmony with us through the atonement of Jesus Christ, who became the payment for the price of our sins.

Thank you, Lord, for your love for us. Help us live according to the truth of your Word.
