Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. - Genesis 21:19
Read Genesis 21:8-21
Getting sick nowadays is no joke. Expense wise, it is stressful. Just recently after consulting an Obstetrician, I was hopeful to hear the diagnosis and get the prescription. However, what she requested is to do another type of ultrasound and blood tests. For me, it only sounded as “another expense.” Yet I still tried to remind myself who God is and how He has been providing for a single mom like me. I told myself with teary eyes, “God is moving even though I do not see it in front of me.”
Few minutes after, I talked to a good friend and boss. He asked me how was I financially. My pride wants to say all is good. But in humility, I had admitted that the medical tests are challenging financially. Our discussion ended with a breakthrough that he will shoulder my health insurance and will even reimburse my CT Stonogram expense. I cried.
While crying, it reminded me of Hagar. Hagar and Ishmael were sent away by Sarah and Abraham. When their water is gone while wandering in the desert of Beersheba, Hagar left Ishmael under a shrub and went off saying, “I can’t watch my son die.” God heard the boy crying and the angel of God called to Hagar, “What’s wrong, Hagar? Don’t be afraid. God has heard the boy and knows the fix he’s in… (v. 17 MSG)” Then God opened Hagar’s eyes and she saw a well of water.
My encouragement to you is this: God never forgets His children. He is always mindful of us. Whether we are in the desert or in the middle of a storm, God is with us, He sees us, and He cares for us. He never stops working for our good. There is a way He has already prepared for us, and He will even send an angel to rescue us.
God is moving in our midst. Trust Him.
