God’s Kindness and Grace
Today's Daily Devotion - September 19 2022
By Khai Samante
Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath. He remembered that they were but flesh, a passing breeze that does not return. — Psalm 78:38-39
Try to remember instances in which you were really irate but controlled your anger. It’s not that simple, is it? Imagine God holding back his wrath against us every day and every minute. God wants us to see Him exactly as He is, which includes both His wrath and His amazing, incomparable grace. According to the Bible, God is merciful and forgiving, and He refrains from destroying His people. God is free to decide to completely destroy us and start over with a fresh generation. But because He has a boundless amount of love for us, He extends His grace even further.
Accepting this wonderful reality about God’s kindness and grace, let’s always keep in mind how awesome our God is. As a result, God is deserving of all praise and appreciation for His abundant mercy and His marvelous grace.
Thank you, Lord, for your never-ending grace.
