Be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect. - Mathew 5:48
Read Mathew 5:48
In reality each day is our Father’s Day- a gift that God, the Father, gives to each one of us. In Mathew’s gospel, Jesus asks us to love our enemies and pray for our persecutors. Why? Jesus goes on to tell us that this will prove that you are sons of your heavenly Father. God knows that we are all works in progress-growing into that whole and complete person that God created us to be. The more we talk to Jesus our guiding light, the more we will resemble Jesus, the perfect one.
Everything that we do should be to glorify God. Devote your gifts and talents to lift up others as you glorify God. Today, ask Jesus how he wants you to grow into the perfection he set aside for you. Blessed John Henry Newman once said, ” To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.”
God, please, bless all Father's with your wisdom, grace, and mercy.
