The love of Jesus is for all – it’s for you, for me, for the poor, for the wicked, for everyone. He does not choose who to love. That is why even at the point of death on the cross, He was still thinking about us whey he said: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing (Luke 23:34).”

In one instance during Jesus’ ministry, He was having dinner at Matthew’s house, and many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners (v. 10-11)?” Then Jesus explained it saying “It’s not the healthy who need a doctor. I came for those who know they’re sinners and need help – not for those who think they’re righteous (v. 12)”.

Jesus did not come here on earth to live in a palace or rub elbows with the self-righteous religious people. He came for every single one of us. What great news it is that Jesus is for you and He will love you regardless of your past, present, and future. Jesus accepts you and He died for you. Reflect on this truth today.
