Humility, Persistence, and Honor

A humble heart, persistent in faith, honoring thrice the Lord Jesus Christ. That is the Canaanite woman when she shouted out for Jesus to heal her daughter tormented by a demon. Initially, Jesus ignored her and the disciples tried to “send her away.” But this woman, so strong and devout in her faith came and did homage to Jesus. She wouldn’t take no for an answer and Jesus so pleased with her faith replied, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish. And her daughter was healed from that hour” (V. 28).

The Canaanite woman gives us the road map to approach our Lord, Jesus Christ. She pays Jesus homage with a humble, persistent heart, acknowledging  thrice that Jesus is Lord, Son of David. It worked for her; I bet it will work for you and me.
