I Am With You and I Will Rescue You

What God-given promise are you clinging to? Human promises are easily broken, but God’s promises are unbreakable. Jeremiah is an overcomer, not because of his strength, but because of his confidence in our all-powerful God. God called him to be a prophet in the latter years of Judah, when the nation was facing significant challenges. His life had not been easy. He was imprisoned for a period of time and was deprived in a variety of ways.

Jeremiah remained focused on his calling and faithful in serving God despite everything that happened to him. He continued to communicate God’s message to Judah and held firm in the face of adversity. Jeremiah clings to the persona of God, who promised to be with him and to save him.

The promise that God made to Jeremiah is the same promise that He makes to all of us. We can be like a fortress because we have a God who surrounds us with His protection. To weather life’s storms, we must not only rely on God’s strength, but also on His fear. We become vulnerable when our faith weakens. If we remain committed to God, we will triumph.

Once more, let us remind ourselves of God’s promise—”I am with you and will rescue you.”
