The Best Is Yet to Come...

We all have experienced suffering in some capacity- the wages of sin. All suffering is temporary on our earthly home and in part prepares us for the glory to be revealed in our heavenly home. I do not enjoy suffering yet welcome it as a part of the eternal plan for my salvation. I confidently ask God not to give me an easy life, but the courage, strength, perseverance, and grace to do his will.

Indeed, it took me a while to embrace this mindset. By doing so, it has liberated me from ingratitude, unlove, unforgiveness and self-pity. It keeps me grounded in the present moment, thankful for the “gift” God has given me on this day. It restores and strengthens the fruits of the Holy Spirit in my life: The 12 fruits are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, long-suffering, gentleness, faith, modesty, self-control, and chastity.

Let us ask ourselves, am I kinder, do I bring peace, or am I joyful and more loving? We bless our world, glorify Jesus and find true fulfillment so much more when we are bearing fruit.
