Is Anything Worth More Than His Soul?

Read Mark 8:34-38

Lately, I have been wanting a lot of things. A new dining set, kitchen rack, new hair color and treatment, a facial treatment, etc. I listed down all that I am thinking of purchasing to discern which is a want and a need and which I should prioritize. I realized the craving for my wants keeps on increasing the more I feed my appetite for it.

The world is telling us to want more and more, but having more isn’t always better. More than feeding and making fat our physical and material cravings, feeding and exercising our soul is more important. Communion and fellowship with God are what our soul needs. Worship, tranquility, and meditation are necessary for our soul not to become weak and shriveled. Reminding ourselves to smile, breathe, and love helps us to stay at the present moment with God.

Only God can completely satisfy our longing and desires. This world can never fill whatever God can fill in our lives.
