Jesus’s Resurrection Guarantees Our Resurrection

I am writing this devotion on April 1st. As I look outside the window, we are receiving “white kisses” from heaven. Yes, snowflakes, large and magnificent falling effortlessly to the ground. Indeed, blessed to receive much needed moisture. Reflecting on a devotion in “New Morning Mercies” on the resurrection, I am moved to write the following:

The resurrection is the window in which we view life. The resurrection of Jesus guarantees your resurrection too. There will be a moment when God will raise you out of this broken world, and sin and suffering will be no more. Jesus will reign until all enemies are under His feet. Our world is not out of control, but under the careful control of the One who is still doing his sin-defeating work.

The resurrection of Jesus motivates you to do what is right no matter what you are facing. The resurrection proclaims that God wins! His truth will reign. Sin will be defeated. Everything that you do in God’s name will be glorified.

Ultimately, the resurrection gives you the joy to give thanks and praise to God. Quite apart from anything that you have earned, you have been welcomed into the most exciting story ever, and a future of everlasting joy and peace with the King of Glory!
