Jesus … said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” - John 8:12

Read John 8:12-18

In the face of disappointment, what is your source of hope? God promised light in the context of darkness. John 1:5 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Headlights of a car ensure that you see the way even in reduced visibility. This helps avoid accidents. As we walk down in dark streets, light offers safety for us. Light is also very important for the seedlings to grow.

God’s promise was fulfilled in Jesus, who declared, “I am the light of the world.” When everything seemed broken and hopeless, the cross is the greatest example of glowing light in the darkness. The light of Jesus overpowers darkness. Jesus is the light of the world. He promised that whoever follows him will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

What are the areas of your heart that are still kept in the darkness? Allow the light of Jesus to enter your heart and bring those dark areas into the light.

Let hope grows as we follow the light of Jesus.
