December 22, 2020 Daily Devotion
We all have a story. In medicine, it is vital to have the time to listen to our patient’s story. In fact, it holds the “keys” to our assessment and plan. Do not neglect to show hospitality, for by that means some have entertained angels without knowing it. (13:2).
I recently saw a prisoner in our clinic. I listened to his story. I saw Jesus in him. Jesus is all and in all. He allowed me to share this positive affirmation with him. “You are not defined by your mistakes. You are defined by God. He loves you know matter what.” He thanked me for my brotherly love. This reminded me to be as mindful of prisoners as if you were sharing their imprisonment, and of the ill-treated as of yourselves, for you may yet suffer as they do (13:3).
Share, show, and be Love!
