As I was rounding a turn on my bike on a country road, I was surprised at a safe distance by a large porcupine. Rarely are these magnificent animals seen. One to always thank God for these encounters, I looked up the symbolism for the porcupine. The sweet Porcupine is a gentle vegetarian who walks a quiet, solitary path. At first glance, the 30,000 quills on such a small, cat-sized body seem fearsome (and a bit out of place), but Porcupine prefers keeping those bristles down; and avoiding unwanted and unnecessary fights makes the Porcupine a symbol of passivism.
