Loving Our Neighbor Is A Gift

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. - 1 Peter 3:8
1 Peter 3:8 directs our attention away from ourselves. It informs us that if we focus on giving on behalf of the hungry and oppressed, our lives will sparkle in the dark and it will shower our darkened existence in sunlight. Even in the most desolate regions, God will provide for our necessities and offer us a complete life. It’s such a wonderful promise!
Loving our neighbors is a gift, not a duty. We all know what it’s like to be in need and to suffer. It helps us love other people better and have compassion for them. We can understand the agony and suffering of others because of our own experiences. Let us trade the agony and fragility of our own difficulties for the pleasures and successes of assisting others, rather than continually putting ourselves in the forefront, focused on what we need and our situation.
Lead with love always.
