Make Your Love Increase and Overflow

Read 1 John 4:7-16

At DrGeorgeJ Holistic Health and Healing, our tagline is to lead with love, as the power of love is God. Love and forgiveness are also the fifth pillar of our five pillars of wellness. We believe we must increase and abound in love to make up for what is lacking.

Paul constantly reminded the believers at Thessalonica to love one another and to do good for one another and for everyone. Other epistles he wrote to the Philippians, Galatians, and Corinthians bear witness to this. Paul also set an example for them, as Jesus taught, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39).” Paul and the other disciples treasured this command firmly in their hearts and never stopped sharing wherever God put them.

Love is a gift from God, and anybody who loves is a child of God. Anyone who does not love, on the other hand, does not know God, for God is love (v.7-8). As the atoning sacrifice for our sins, Jesus Christ is the most powerful manifestation of God’s love for us. No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, however, God resides deeply inside us, then his love becomes complete in us—perfect love (v.12)!

We are undeserving of God’s love, but He loves us unconditionally, without hesitation or regret. Who are we not to love our neighbor as we love ourselves?
