Do You Believe This?

Read John 11:1-16

Faith is the result of believing in the Gospel. The Gospel is the good news that God became man in Jesus Christ. He live the life we should have lived and died the death we should have died—in our place. Three days later, He rose from the dead, proving that He is the Son of God and offering the gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repents and believes in Him (Dr. Rice Broocks).

Perhaps Jesus understands that people during His ministry will not easily believe Him, actually this is true even until today. Science will say it is impossible to live again after death. Some who have witnessed this with flatline patients cannot even find an explanation based on science. It is also impossible to believe that through the death and resurrection of Jesus; we are already forgiven without the need of doing rituals and sacrifices. For some, the weight of sin doesn’t even make sense to them.

If you still have doubts about Jesus, ask God, and you shall receive. Like the father of the boy possess by an impure spirit, you can tell Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief (Mark 9:24)!”
