My Portion Forever

Read Psalm 73:23-28

It’s been exactly one week when we received the RT-PCR result of my 63-year old mom that she’s positive with COVID-19. Days prior, the dad of a close friend needs to be rushed due to the hospital also due to COVID. Today, we received another news that my youngest sibling is also positive with the same virus. We are yet to find out the results of other members of the household.

I know God is good, that He is our Jehovah-Rapha, and that He is our Jehovah-Jireh. Yet fears and worries will still try to creep into my soul. Without a firm foundation, my guard can surely collapse with all the weight of all that is happening to my family. While crying to the Lord, I told God how weak, scared, and anxious I am. In humility, I admitted I am nothing without Him.

Whatever trials and hardships we may experience, God will always have a firm hold on us. We can always be satisfied and filled with hope, for God is the strength of our heart and our portion forever. No doubt about it! God is good—good to good people, good to the good-hearted (Psalm 73:1 MSG).
