Not My Will

Read Luke 22:39-46

This scripture demonstrates the great love of Jesus for His father. More than His love for us, He loves God so much, that He is willing to obey even to the point of death. There are a lot of chances for Jesus to just leave and go to a place far from the Pharisees. Jesus could have chosen to just stay in the places where people believes in Him and His teachings. Yet He did not act according to His plans, but according to the will of God. What are you willing to give up for your love for God?

Jesus’ love for us is rooted in His love for God. Like Jesus, we can live in obedience to the Word of God, not out of fear from His wrath, but because of our great love for Him. We can live a life honoring to Him, not with the desire of getting more blessings, but because we want to please God by showing our love for Him through obedience.
