Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You.” - Mark 10:28
By the end of St. Ignatius of Loyola’s life, he was pausing every hour to examine his thoughts, words, actions, and feelings. The flowed naturally from a place of surrender and love. His constant prayers of self-offering were almost childlike in nature flowing from the grace of the “Suscipe” prayer. In this prayer, we offer all our memory, understanding, liberty, and will to God:
“Take (suscipe), Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess. You have given all to me. To you, O Lord, I return it. All is yours, dispose of it wholly according to your will. Give me your love and your grace, for this is sufficient for me.”
Indeed, your love and grace are sufficient for me!
