Peace In Front of A Storm

February 24, 2022 Daily Devotion
By Khai Samante

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. - Isaiah 26:3

Read Isaiah 26

How can we have peace in front of a storm? How can we look at the storm and not lose our faith? Trusting God in difficult times is not something that happens automatically all the time. Our faith is not always like a security alarm that automatically alarms when it detects unauthorized entry.

Panicking when in front of a storm is not a sign of lack of faith. Having faith is a conscious decision. It’s deciding to look at God rather than the storm. God is aware of the difficulties that each of us will face during our time on this planet. Praying and reading the Bible to get to know God isn’t only about learning who He is; it’s also about growing our trust in light of the truth about His character and love for us. Because of who He is, we may put our trust in Him and find peace in His presence. Isaiah 32:18 says, “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” Those whose hearts are fixed on the God of Peace receive absolute peace. We can rest in God’s promises, knowing that He is trustworthy and that His words are full of truth and power.

Lord, help me trust you and find perfect peace in you.
