Peace, Love, and Unity

I was walking with a friend on December 8th, the feast of the Immaculate Conception and a white dove flew over us on three separate occasions. This was the first time we ever saw a white dove in the neighborhood. This was such a welcome sight on many levels. First, my marriage recently ended in divorce. Secondly, I was teaching the church “youth on fire” group, The Power of the Holy Spirit after mass on that same day. Wow, Lord, your timing is perfect. I needed that signal of grace at that exact moment. I was giddy with glory, honor and praise to my Lord, Jesus Christ. I shared this liberally at mass and with our youth group. The Holy Spirit, the paraclete, the helper, the advocate showed up big. 

White doves are truly magical in almost every culture. They are signs of hope, prosperity, and peace. They symbolize the end of strife and the beginning of a life of bliss. When a white dove flies over you, look at it with eyes of love and hope because something good will be coming to you down the road. White doves are symbolic of new beginnings, peace, fidelity, love, luck and prosperity. Most importantly God chose the white dove to represent the Holy Spirit as did we on our Love God logo- a symbol of peace adorned with an olive branch. Peace be with you.
