Pray with Confidence

This is the psalm of David when he fled from his son Absalom. His son revolted against him, forcing him to flee Jerusalem. In his psalm, he described God as his shield, glory, sustainer, and . God is his the one who lifts his head high, who hears him and answers him.

This is the nature of God. We can always turn to God for help and rely on Him. Tomorrow is unpredictable, but one thing is certain: we can trust God because He is unchanging. Let us likewise have the confidence to face every struggle life will hurl at us, as David said in Psalm 23, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” The same God who is with David is also with us, loving us. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Let us pray unceasingly and expectantly as John 15:14-15 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”
