Prayer Life - Daily Devotion

The LORD is close to everyone who prays to him, to all who truly pray to him. - Psalm 145:18 NCV

Read Psalm 145

Jesus showed us and taught us how to pray. His life has been a life of prayer—constant and unceasing communication with His Father. He wakes up early to pray as Mark has written in Mark 1:35 saying, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” After Jesus’ preaching, He dismisses people to be alone and pray (Matthew 14:23). He climbs the mountain to pray, taking Peter, John, and James along (Luke 9:28).

Jesus also taught his disciples to pray as written in Matthew 6:9-13. He kicked over the tables of loan sharks and the stalls of dove merchants so blind and crippled can get in and pray (Matthew 21:12–13). And even in the last few hours before he was arrested, he dedicated his time to a prayer at the Mount Olives (Luke 22:39–46).

He knows that life will never be easy, and prayer is one of the strongest weapons we can use not to be tempted and not to give up. Jesus prayed through his words and deeds. When we do the same, amazing things happen.

Let’s live a life of prayer.
