We Can Always Rejoice!

Read Ecclesiastes 3

Recall the time when you danced out of joy because of an answered prayer or a breakthrough you didn’t expect. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” There can be seasons of spiritual dryness, mourning, warfare, or a long journey in the wilderness. But there can be seasons of rejoicing, abundance, growth, and victory.

In whatever season we may be, let us remember what King Solomon wrote: God has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted a sense of divine purpose in the human heart—yet man cannot find out what God’s overall plan is from the beginning to the end. There is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good as long as they live (vv. 11, 12).

The most essential thing is to keep our eyes on Jesus, to seek him out, to love him, and to grow closer to him. In any season we are in, trusting God’s word will equip us. As a result, we can always rejoice! We can overcome anything because of Jesus’s finished work on the cross.

Whatever God does, it endures forever; nothing can be added to it nor can anything be taken from it, for God does it so that men will fear and worship Him [with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is God] (vv. 14 AMP).
