Semper Fi!

On the feast of the Holy Trinity, we attended mass in another community. We have attended this church on several occasions and feel quite welcome there. As this was also Memorial Day Weekend, the priest invited a young man named “Joe” to come up in front of the congregation for a special blessing. Joe was soon joining the Marine Corps. At the end of the blessing, we all clapped, and I shouted out, “Semper Fi, Joe!” He responded in the typical Marine fashion: “Hoorah!”

We enjoyed a nice brunch after mass and visited the local VA cemetery to pay our respects to the brave men and women that have so gallantly preserved the freedoms that we cherish. Then as my wife and I were enjoying some relaxing time in the back yard, 3 doves: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit flew right in front of us as a fitting exclamation to a most beautiful day.
