Sorrow Vs Laughter

Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us. — Ecclesiastes 7:3 NLT
This passage from Ecclesiastes may be perplexing. Laughter, without a doubt, will triumph over sadness. However, the rest of the scripture explains why sorrow is preferable to laughter. It implies that sadness has a refining effect on us. Laughter is a lovely gift from God. Our lives, however, are not always filled with joy and delight. Sometimes we face difficulties that cause us to be sorrowful. However, it is during the difficult times that we learn to seek God and rely on Him more. Our sorrow causes us to reflect on our lives and consider our choices, which can cause a transformation of our lives and growth in our wisdom. Although sorrow is unpleasant, it can lead to a new way of life or a new perspective that can improve one’s life more than laughter ever could.
God is good, even when we are in sorrow and pain.
