Maturity for what?
Andy Stanley said, “Spiritual maturity is measured in terms of persevering faith, not perfect behavior.” Recognizing and welcoming troubles as “friends” will help us find hug comfort during tough times. It’s like we are welcoming God to mold us and to become mature in our faith. Testing of our faith produces in us the quality of endurance that helps us to become spiritually mature.
Spiritual maturity makes us ready for any battle. James said, “Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing” James 1:3,4 AMP).
Lord, help me grow and become the person you want me to be.
