Teach Me To Do Your Will Daily Devotion

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. - Psalms 143:10 NIV

Nowadays, we can rely on our own strength, expertise, and capability more easily. David’s psalm expresses his dependence on God. What does it mean to do God’s will? Spurgeon also outlined how a Christian should carry out God’s will: wisely, quickly, cheerfully, consistently, globally, spiritually, and intensely. Every day, we should treat it as if we were competing for a gold crown.

God has His way of teaching us, and it is through the Holy Spirit. John 14:26 says, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” When was the last time you asked God to fill you up with His Spirit? The Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26). Sometimes we will feel weak in front of a temptation, or feel fear instead of faith when in front of a storm. Remember that the Holy Spirit is with us. God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). What a blessing to know that our God will never ever leave us. In humility, let us always seek God and His will.

God’s will for us is beautiful.
