The 300 O’clock Hour- The Divine Mercy

Be merciful just as your Father is merciful. —Luke 6:36

Recently, I was canvassing the community in support of a candidate for US Senate. I needed two more signatures to finish the petition. I pulled into the Open Bible Church in Rapid City and at 3 o’clock God blessed me with these last two signatures. In front of the two ladies that were kind to support this candidate, I thanked God for their presence and assistance. I also asked God to bless them and their families abundantly.

The Divine Mercy is a form of God’s compassion, an act of grace based on trust and forgiveness. We recite this prayer at 3:00 pm in remembrance of the hour of the Lord’s death.

In Catholicism, it refers specifically to a devotion which had its origin in the apparitions of Jesus Christ reported by Saint (Sister) Faustina Kowalska, in the early 20th century, in Poland.

Jesus spoke to her, “Today I am sending you with My mercy to the people of the whole world. I do not want to punish aching mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to My Merciful Heart.” In tomorrow’s devotion we will continue with Saint Faustina’s mercy mission.

Mercy triumphs judgment.
