The “Garden” of Eden - Daily Devotion

He who ponders the law of the Lord, day and night, will yield fruit in due season. - Psalm 1:2,3

God ceases to amaze me with his abundant signals of grace. As a hunter and gatherer, I enjoy hiking, gardening, drying herbs and hunting. Nature reminds me of God’s magnificent playground and fosters an attitude of stewardship; being one with Creation. In this quietness, it is my classroom to hear the words of the Lord. Nature bears witness to almighty God as we see order, beauty, purpose and breath-taking majesty. Nature is God’s silent language that reveals much about his character.

Indeed, we see His power manifested in blizzards, earthquakes, and hurricanes as well as breathtaking sunrises, sunsets and beautiful mountain vistas. When we surround ourselves with less of God’s creation, we remove an aspect of God’s presence from our lives. Maybe that is why the Bible refers to Eden as a garden and not a city. Let us be one with the Creator, creation, and one another to yield the amazing fruits in due season.

The fruits of eternal life!
